It’s almost a week ago now – time is running!

Last Thursday 24. January, we celebrated our annual Kickoff 2013 under the motto of “Las Vegas” in the StarLite Eventhall in Rapperswil-Jona . It was a memorable event and for the first time, we have had our first common event after the merge from Magirus to Avnet and we shared the stage as one company.

For everyone who wants to recapitalize this evening again, we have uploaded the pictures from the event to the Avnet Marketing Portal.

IBM Storwize V7000 BLOCK to UNIFIED Upgrade available!

We had to wait long time… but finally we have it!IBM_Storwize_Unified_small_02

According to the IBM PLET ZP12-0643 the Upgrade from BLOCK to Unified is now officially available via eConfig since today Monday 14.01.2013. The Upgrade was already available via RPQ 8S1236 and required a RPQ approval from IBM. Now it is officially available and is also supporting the latest FW 6.4.x.

The previously announced availability of customer-installable file modules to upgrade a block IBM Storwize V7000 to IBM Storwize V7000 Unified was delayed. It was originally planed to be available for ordering on November 20, 2012, but has been postponed until January 14, 2013.

Product Informations:
IBM® Storwize® V7000 Unified V1.4 includes Real-time compression, local authentication server support, four-way clustering, and FCoE support, and is available to clients for use with block workloads as of November 9, 2012.

Upgrade Utility:
The Upgrade Utility has also already been released and requires users to be on last FW and works very similar than a Firmware Upgarde.
